CHILDREN'S PROGRAM - Designed for the youngest students, these classes stress the development of coordination and motor skills, rhythm and musical awareness, spatial awareness, listening skills, and creative expression. The Pre-Ballet class introduces the student to basic ballet technique.

Song & Dance - Song & Dance is an introduction to music and dance for 3 and 4 year-old girls and boys. It is a fun, creative dance class where students learn to sing songs accompanied with movements to enrich their coordination and listening skills. Basic spatial structure will be introduced (the formation of circles and lines) as well as counting songs, color songs, and silly songs to spark the child's imagination. Use of rhythm sticks will also be introduced to help enrich the child's musicality.
Ages 3 and 4 one 45 min. class/week
Creative Movement - Created for 5 and 6 year-olds, this class focus on further development of movements, musical awareness and creative expression. It helps to develop a child's coordination, flexibility, musicality, and listening skills, while the students are having fun. Creative materials such as hoops, balls, hats, scarves, etc will be utilized to enhance child's creativity.
Ages 5-6 one 60 min. class/week
Pre-Ballet - Developed for more mature children, we will intensify the use of different levels of space, rhythm and qualities in movement. We begin to work on skills used to create and remember dances for performance, stretch/flexibility exercises, and introduce movement patterns of classical ballet steps and basic ballet technique. Creative materials and fun activities will still be part of the class.

BALLET PROGRAM - A comprehensive training program that follows a graded syllabus to develop physical alignment and technique, strength and flexibility, musicality, and the quality of performance. Advancement through the program is based on a student's level of attendance, mastery of skills, dedication, and accomplishment, not on his or her age. Students may expect to spend two years mastering their art in each of the levels offered.

Primary Ballet I - The children are introduced to classical ballet technique. Elementary barre exercises with emphasis on correct posture, introduction to center and diagonal movements. Intensified work on strength and flexibility.
Ages 7-8 one 90 min. class/week
Primary Ballet II - Further development of control and balance with increased theory, including complete positions of the body. Barre, center work and introduction to diagonal combinations.
Ages 9-11 two 90 min. class/week
Ballet Level A - Training intensifies with further study of the coordination and connection between movements. Barre, center work and diagonal combinations.
Ages 11-12 three 90 min. class/week
Ballet Level B - From this level forward, the plasticity, coordination and connection of movements of the arms, legs, feet, head and body are the primary developmental goal. For those deemed ready, pointe class is added twice a week.
Ages 12-13 four 90 min. class/week + two 30 min. pointe class/week
Ballet Level C - Emphasis placed on greater stability and complexity in the study of positions, adagio, jumps, turns and more. Greater development of strength, flexibility and quality of the movement.
Ages 13-14 five 90 min. class/week of which two Pointe classes are included
Ballet Level D - Intensified study of adagio, pirouettes and development of ballon (quality of jumping). Use of space is emphasized and length of combinations is increased to develop stamina.
Ages 14+ five 90 min. class/week of which two Pointe classes are included
Beginner/Intermediate Pointe - this 45 minute class is designed to provide more practice to beginner and intermediate level students who are training en Pointe. During the class students will have instruction on proper placement, technique and strengthening exercises at the barre. All of the exercises will than be carried over to advance in center work. This class requires at least 1 years experience dancing en Pointe.
Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights and Pointe shoes.
Variations Class- this class will provide training and coaching in some of the best known classical variations in dance. Though a group class, this 75 minute experience will enable each student to practice and perform variations in front of the instructor individually.
(Pointe shoes required).

Adult Ballet (Open) - Classical ballet training with emphasis on balance, coordination and connection between movements in a fun, adult environment. Class includes barre exercises, center work as adagio, turns & jumps and diagonal combinations. Ballet curriculum and vocabulary will be utilized. Offered to teens and adults with basic or intermediate experience.
Dress Code: any colored leotard, pink or black tights, ballet slippers.

JAZZ / MODERN DANCE

Modern Dance (Advanced Intermediate/Advanced) - This free form/style of dance allows the body to move in very expressive ways. This class is designed to allow students to experience dance and expression without boundaries and will explore techniques of the great Modern Dance masters. The study of composition and improvisation further develop the dancer's choreographic creativity and imagination. Students must have prior experience in modern and/or ballet technique.
Dress Code: any colored leotard, footless black tights
Ages 13+ one 90 min. class/week
Jazz I (Beginner/ Advanced Beginner) - This class introduces students to the basic concepts, techniques and styles of jazz dance. Students will lean basic vocabulary, a warm-up specific to jazz technique and structure along with stretching and conditioning. Simple jazz progressions across the floor and combinations allow students to experience this stylized way of dancing. No prior knowledge/experience is required for this class.
Dress Code: black leotard, black tights, and jazz shoes.
Ages 8-10 one 60 min. class/week
Jazz II (Intermediate) - Class begins with a technical, center warm up of isolations, stretching and conditioning. Correct body placement and terminology based on the technique of the instructor's area of expertise. Students go on to dance across the floor and learn center combinations, demonstrating technical elements and variety of jazz dance styles and movements. Student must have prior knowledge/experience in ballet technique.
Dress Code: black leotard, black tights/ jazz pants and jazz shoes.
Ages 10-13 one 60 min. class/week
Jazz III (Advanced Intermediate/Advanced) - This class is designed to enhance and refine technical jazz elements and styles. The pace of the class moves quickly. Warm up, stretching, conditioning, across the floor combinations and center combinations are more challenging and stylized. Jazz technique and style are based on teacher's area of expertise. Students must have a minimum of 5 years of dance knowledge/experience in jazz and/or ballet technique in order to enroll.
Dress Code: any color leotard, black jazz pants, jazz shoes.
Ages 14+ one 75 min. class/week
Hip Hop - No prior dance knowledge/experience is required to enroll. This class is designed to be non-technical, funky and fun! Based on Urban culture/influences, this dance form moves your body to the flavor of hip/hop music and street dancing.
Dress Code: hard soled sneakers and loose fitting apparel. NO JEANS OR SKIRTS.

STRETCH / CONDITIONING
|

Pilates (open)- This 60 minute class will allow for the body to strengthen the muscles of the core as well as the posturing, rotation, and stretching. The uses of certain Pilates apparatus are used for abdominal exercises and stretching.

Stretch- This 60 minute class will enable the body to become more flexible, loose and stress free. There will be a concentration on holding positions to increase range of flexibility.

Master Class teachers, national and internationally, visit the school to teach and train students in a variety of dance genres and philosophies.
